| Over a span of more than 30 years, Dr. Lewis has taught a total of more than 400 sections of both graduate and undergraduate mathematics and education courses, including service as a full-time tenured full professor of mathematics and education at Spalding University and a part-time or adjunct professor at Bellarmine University, Galen College of Nursing, Indiana University Southeast, Jefferson Community College Southwest, Mid-Continent University, University of Louisville Department of Mathematics, University of Louisville Department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, University of Kentucky, and Webster University.
Dr. Lewis received a secondary education teaching certificate in mathematics from the University of Louisville in 1976, even though he chose to pursue a post-secondary teaching career.
Dr. Lewis has served as chairperson or as a reader on more than 90 doctoral dissertation and master thesis committees, and in the past, he served as mathematics program coordinator and computer science program coordinator for the Spalding University mathematics and computer science programs. He also served as Director of Institutional Research at Spalding University for several years.
In early 2006, after having spent 30 consecutive years teaching at the college-level (19 of which were full-time at Spalding University and 30 of which were part-time at multiple locations), Dr. Lewis made the decision to teach few, if any, future part-time or summer courses in order to focus his energies on quality dedication to one full-time obligation at Spalding University and to his various theoretical research interests.
